I'm buying a MIA strat. It should be a 2010-11. I thought I should see a "US" prefix in the serial number but there is none. Only 100*****. Every other MIA that I can remember has the US prefix. Are there just some floating around with the "US and some w/o? Is this correct? Thanks

Well, i have several US made strats and none od them have US prefix in serial number! To be honest i newer saw one with US prefix in serial number!
But it seams that after 2010 Fender started to use US prefix! However they did use 10 folowed by space and then several other numbers as serial number in first few months of 2010!
I hope this helps.

The first few hundred/thousand of 2010 did have the 10 prefix to the serial. Fender changed it to the US prefix later in the year.
