the neck was a joy to play, the pickups sounded great , i didnt record when i was pushing the amp. i was in my lunch break.
the standard sounded awesome too, but the traditional felt like home.

now i need to test an R8. i saw them brand new at musiciansfriend for 3600 brand new.
(i think). it is more expensive, but if it feels better, and the guitar calls to me, im gonna be in trouble.
does the r8 have a fat neck?
i think that is first and foremost in my choices, then tone for the les paul.

Thanks nevin.
Fantastic site, I definitely bookmarked it.
The prices aren't that bad, and he provides a great explanation
And measurements.

That's you on the '57VHR 'slow blues' video, I trust. Did you borrow that guitar, or own it? Any impressions there. I've got one. Love that neck...second to the Clapton, and in front of Fender's 10/56 V-neck.

Yeah it's me, and it's my hr57,
I love it , the soft v neck feels awesome, I'm lucky to have
This strat truth be told.

Not long after it was issued, I persuaded Niki to buy one. He's not been disappointed. Took me nearly all of last year to have one built and shipped. I wish Fender were not so set on that 'modern C' neck of theirs and give us the option of a special order, even off the production line.

Nice player. Neck just a tad chunkier than the Clapton. A different voice with the SCN's and the Hotrail.....and I like the vintage vibe. Memories of my old '58 lingering there.

The Tonezone is nearly there in regards to full sized humbucker sounds from a singlecoil sized housing.
Not quite, but nearly. A tad too much middle focused center of the mids rather than low mid.
The rest just sound like variations on hot singlecoils that happen to be noiseless, to my ear. I like the FS2 just for it's great high output. It's not that thick sounding though.

Hot rails ,definitely love these more.

Tone zone are creamier

I have been thinking about putting a hotrail or some sort of single coil sized humbucker in one of my Stratocasters.

I like single coils, but sometimes I need a little bit hotter bridge.

i like the tone zone S more than the SD HR. i especially like the position 2,
middle and bridge.

you have enough strats already. you can take one of them and do the mid-boost mod.
get the LP
Thats what I would do.You do have plenty of strats .Add a lester and you can cover alot of sonic ground.

i totally agree, after testing out several guitars, not leaving other strats, teles, epis, esp
im gonna get a les paul. gotta sell some gear, and save some.
itll be a while, but i think itll be worth it.
its down to the traditional, standard, and the R8.

my goal is to keep my SRV strat, and hr 57 strat, 2 of my great strats will have to go,
in order to get an awesome Gibby.
i think sonically, ill be covered...
one thing ive learned is to get the guitar i want, wait it out and not settle on price.
ofcourse i will go with the best guitar i can afford. until then, ill dream
