It stands for "Guitar Acquisition Syndrome" which is what I now have for a Sienna Sunburst Strat!

Cheers for all the kind words guys, I really think I struck gold with this. From what I can see it appears to be a two piece body, I can only see the one join in it.

I'm glad I didn't buy it online because the colour and grain varies really quite a lot between them.

And RebelFalcon it was R&B I got it from. Bruce Miller is in the process of closing down. The guys in R&B are really helpful and knowledgeable. They'll spend a bit of time with you if you make it clear your looking to buy instead of just sit and play with their stuff. Look out for the young guy with the long hair and stubble - I can't remember his name but he's really good.

Really beautiful. I fell in love that finish the first time I saw one hanging in the Music Store. I'll have to get one, one of these days. Nice job on the pics, by the way...

You'd be hard pressed to find a prettier guitar for your first Strat. The Sienna Burst is probably the most beautiful burst pattern that Fender has developed and the maple neck really sets her off...congrats.

The pictures make the finish look darker than it is, almost like a tobacco burst. In person the red's a bit brighter round the edges, and the finish is a bit more colourful overall.

You beat me to it on that one. That finish is really spectacular and your photos don't do it justice, particularly with the grain pattern you got lucky with. That guitar really has to be shopped for the right piece of wood. I am pleased to know of your happiness with your guitar however, my experience with the SCN pickups in Strats not having the S-1 circuits, like the Strat I had built with a 25db midboost, my FSR Deluxe VG, and my '57VHR, lead me to believe that the new N3's may be the reason you did not care for the Deluxe. Fender is constantly trying to do one better, but those pups may not have been the call.

Here's a thought. When the time comes, buy it for the new baby as a birthday present and then stick it the back of a closet for 15 years. You'll hopefully have an aspiring guitarist and a closet classic to go with.
