Just picked up a Fulltone '70 Fuzz pedal and there is just something about it that just makes my strat sound great with the volume rolled down for a clean sound.

I think its the compression, the voicing, whatever it is, it works very well.

glad to hear it. that company makes great pedals. but i prefer electro-harmonix myself.

know what else makes a great strat sound? running a strat into a vintage AC 30. crank the volume on the amp until it gets to maximum crunch. then put a tubescreamer in front of the amp, and crank that. it creates a very midrange punchy distorted sound. kinda like a texas blues tone on acid.

Like Ben13, my strats like to be plugged straight into an amp for pedal-less, natural distortion. Except I don't have a Vox. It's Marshall at the casa de orvilleowner.
