Just got my Fender Jim Root strat today. Not your daddy's strat, but a bone crushing awesome axe. Ebony fretboard, locking tuners, nice case, EMGs (81 and 60 -- no hum whatsoever), beautiful matte/satin black finish. Amazing looks and tone. I've owned many many guitars but this one is just fantastic, truly beyond expectations. Did you know this one has the 18 volt option built in? (most emgs just use 9 volts). I highly recommend this guitar. I like the dots along the side of the neck. If you want something different, something better than ESP or Gibson, that a high quality, made in USA axe, this is worth taking a look at.
