I believe this is a parts caster made with a Deluxe strat neck but i want to be certain before contacting the seller...I do not believe it is a MIM deluxe because as far as i know they never made one in the HSS configuration on top of that the hardware is chrome instead of gold but it does have the vintage tuners..Is this a delue model i'm not familiar with or a Parts caster?

Partscaster or not, it's easily worth the price of admission so long as it sounds good and plays well.

I agree with that also ..But i'm going to be raffling it off at a musicians dinner to help a handicap person get his custom made vehicle repaired.. So i would like to have some knowledge about the guitar...

I have bought a very nice mint blonde/maple Squier 51 for runner up ..I got it for $100 with hardcase ..We had budgeted on $500 for two guitars anything below that is gravy...

I used to have one like it. I can't remember what it was called exactly. Looks stock though. Mine was black, had the big headstock, HSS, the Vintage style bridge is the same as the american, not like the MIM, the pickups were Tex-Mex for the single coils and I think it was called the atomic for the HB.

I was wrong, it was a Tex-Mex HB also. Here's a link to an old ad. Looks like they came in Black and Pewter. I had the black and you have the Pewter. :)

Might it have been a "Deluxe Power Strat", which replaced the discontinued "Deluxe Powerhouse Strat"?

Good call, JasonSD.

Nice guitar at a nice price. On the downside that fingerboard is absolutely revoltingly filthy. Ew! Before it is offered to anyone as a prize there is a bit of elbow grease needed there to remove the... finger grease. Yuk.

On the other hand, the seller says the guitar will make its new owner popular with the ladies. Which is a very desirable quality in a guitar - and completely unique, in my experience. I've never found a guitar that works that way...

Cheers - C

Ceri...I believe the chap that is selling this guitar has a little used car salesman in him by his wording..I also noticed the crud on the fret board .. I don't mind doing a little cleaning as long as the price is right...

I have also found that the playing of the guitar may attract a certain type of female until the first time you tell them you can't come out and play because you must practice ..Then you become a guitar geek..

Yeah - but it's when they tell you; "Go play your guitar, you're not coming out with me", that you realise the guitar hero thang just don't work on girls.

Either that or it's the weeping sores and galloping string warts that puts them off. Thank goodness I've got this ring on my finger already!

Cheers - C

PS: I have no idea what galloping string warts are. But it certainly sounded disgusting...

Price seems about right. When I sold mine I sold it on Ebay and it sold for $265.
