Should I tell him about the "Guitar Recycling Program"?

Oh yeah, that's a great idea!

Since I was the first one to answer him it should go to me......

I think I saw KHE3's Deluxe just come up for sale on eBay! Ding and all!

So none of you guys should expect delivery anytime soon.

Unless you are top bidder, of course.

I ve got dents, nicks, scrapes, scratches and chips all over my Honey Blonde Hwy One. I remember where each one came from and if my tech said he could snap his fingers and put her back to the day I got her, I'd slap him in the face.

To me its a recorded history of the last 6 years I have spent with it. Its not written in words, its written in experience and they have all lined up to sign my guitar in their own little way.

Bottom line, now your guitar is actually yours. Its one of a kind no one else has it and no one has the "exact" same story to tell about how it got there. Enjoy it, as they pile up on there you will learn to love them more and more.

Everytime I purchase a new guitar, I can't help but think ahead in the future, to how it will look in a couple years after it has been worn in from playing and giging. I like the way a well worn in played and dinged up guitar looks, every ding has a story a tale and something unique about it.

My suggestion is not to feel bad about your guitar, enjoy it after all is it about how ur guitar looks or about how it plays and communicates to you?

I agree that the more dings and nicks a strat has, the better it looks. You can however fix it somewhat easily. I'd recommend getting a professional to do it but Stewart Macdonald sent out an email recently on how to fix scratches and stuff. I'll post a link later.

That's the truth.

Hell, it's not a Les Paul!! Dings, dents and scratches give that guitar character!

Sorry for your mishap. I give a great deal of care to all my guitars, and I also hate to get bumps and bruises on them. It is an unavoidable problem though. You just cant keep them looking new forever. I agree with some of the other guys that the scratches and bumps do give a guitar personality. Look at SRVs guitar. That thing is loaded with personality, and it is terribly worn. I guess in my mind the nicer I keep them, the better the price I will get if I go to sell them. You might try to find a luthier and see if he can repair it for you. It could be costly, but if it bothers you that much it may be worth the expense.
