Hi All,
Well, I decided to thin the tele herd and I ordered the new American Standard Strat (my first strat ever by the way!!), it should be here next tuesday or wednesday. I went with the Olympic White with a Maple Neck and I also ordered the Fender Custom Shop Texas Special P/U's, to replace the stock ones. I was going to go with a 57 Hotrod but the soft 'v' neck is just to thin for me. My American Tele has the same neck specs as the new standard strat, so for me it's perfect. So, I'll have my 60th Anniversary American Tele and my 'NEW' addition, the 08 American Standard Strat. I'll post pictures when I get it.

If I were getting a strat today, that's the exact one I'd get...Congrats!

Oh, why are you changing to Texas specials? Is there something about the stock pickups that you don't like?

THANKS, I'll have pictures posted tomorrow. 8)

Honestly, I have no idea what to expect from the stock p/u's, I thought I'd order them just in case the stock p/u's are a little weak and if the stock p/u's are good I'll return the texas specials, although from what I have heard the texas specials are very nice sounding. 8)

8) Here she is.....and all I can say is FENDER NAILED IT!!! WOW. The craftsmanship is OUTSTANDING, the neck tint and finish is superb. Not a flaw on her and my earlier thoughts of replacing the stock p/u's, forget about it!! The stock p/u's are awesome. This guitar is amazing plugged into my 65 twin reverb and blues junior. If you can afford one, buy one, as a die hard tele player, this being my first strat, I am very pleased!!! In fact, I might have to call in sick to work to play all day tomorrow.

I share your sentiments. I got my Am Dlx the beginning of this month. It's the best guitar I've ever owned. Too bad photobucket won't show your pics. My baby is shown in the banner below.

Sweet axe man. There's just something special about a new strat plugged into a Twin Reverb. It's just so Fender perfect.
