Hey folks! I own an Fender American Standard strat and I'm planning to get a Fender practice amp. There are some amps on my list...

1.Fender blues junior
2.Fender pro junior
3.G-Dec 3 thirty Blues
4.Mustang I,II,III

I play most R&B, Blues rock songs like john mayer type and joe bonamassa and little of hendrix. If there is any other better amps than the ones listed above please recommend me the best ones either from the list or other non-fender brand amps. Please give me your feedbacks regarding this. Thanks!~ :)

I've got an older Blues Jr. that I dearly love, so I may tend to be prejudiced about them. From what I've heard lately, the B.Jr III model that's in the current line-up has some improvements over my own.

However, I bought a G-DEC 30 about a month ago, because of its amp modeling features. It can mimic the sound of any amp, including a good Marshall sound, if you wanted to simulate Hendrix's sound, for instance. That makes it very versatile. I'm still learning about mine, but it can produce a tone that's very close to my Blues Jr. Didn't take me long to find that out. Kind of like having 22 amps in one. I'm having a blast with mine right now and so that's what I would recommend that you give some serious thought to buying.

Any thoughts on the juniors and G-Dec thirty blues? Is the backing track for the G-Dec amp great?

we have both the g-dec 30 and a blues jr. III in the shop.

The g-dec has tons of backing tracks, and they work really well. they cover a whole lot of genres too; one minute you'll be picking to some rockabilly, the next is some of metal...

they sound pretty good too, and the interface is pretty user friendly.

That blues jr. has a pretty great tone, and does get you that blues sound. The only thing I didn't like about it was its overdriven sound, but that could be just me.... The next guitarist could come in and fall in love with it.

I heard that the G-Dec is most likely suitable for beginners and the most important function it doesn't have is the external pedals etc not being able to be plugged into it.And most of the effects are digital and it doesn't sound nice.I think i'll either go for the Blues junior or Pro Junior. Any difference between them?

Where do you play mostly -at home? Gigs? It will make a difference. Pro Jr. gets loud quickly, but sounds great cranked. Some of the others you mentioned have headphone out, which may or may not be important.

Fender Hot Rod Series Pro Junior III, can´t beat this monster for the price. ($399) And plus, for the majority it sounds much better in tone than the Blues Jr.
I´ve already made some mods on mine, Weber Signature AlNiCo 10S Speaker, Telam EL84´s Pair and JAN Sylvania 12AX7WA´s Pair.

out of the ones you listed the jr and the pro.
a Fnder Deluxe VM might not be bad either.
for modeling amps, NOBODY comes close to the Vox Valvetronix like the VT30.
sure its nice to have backing track but i buy them on disc.
backing tracks are something i will use for the rest of my life, i dont want them in a amp.
if something happens to the amp or i sell it, there goes my classroom and a big chunk of my study material. just not a good idea in my opinion. backing tracks are cool to play with yes, but they also should be used for practice and study as well.

i dont care for modeling amps at all really. they always sound very dry and lacking in my opinion, save one, the Vox. ive got to compare a couple side by side.
nothing came remotely close to the Vox.

here is a demo. not the best demo but it gives you an idea anyways.

are you dead set on fender?

E) None of the above, perhaps?

You'll find my general amp advise in this thread. Pay attention to #1

ok but "spend as much on your amp as you did your guitar".
ok so which guitar do you base that on if a guy has several. hell he might have guitars ranging from $300-$60,000.
i see where your going with this but ya gotta draw the line somewhere.
say a guy rewards himself with a nice CS strat. say he paid $2,500.
he doesnt need to go spend that much on a quality amp, and i dont think you
intended for him to do so in your advise either. by reading i know the way you think on most things i believe. (ok going back to your link you mentioned excluding CS etc etc)
me it depends on your intent of the amp. i tend to think if your serious about your guitar selection so should you be about your amp selection. if you shortcut here your bringing down your guitars "tonal values" in my opinion. if you just bang around on the weekends and not to serious about your playing sure get a $200 amp it gets you by and gets you heard. no biggie. now, when i bought my blues jr, i was looking for that tone to match it with my tele. it was a perfect match tonally in my opinion. yes my tele sounds nice through DR Z as well but not the tone i wanted for the tele. i actually like the bit'O boxy i get in the blues jr's tone. now, i do have a few very special guitars that i believe deserve nothing less than a Fender Deluxe, around 1965 should do it nicely.
the egnater rebel20 was bought for its very unique tone and the features the amp has.
i have bedroom levels and a very nice amp to have mic'ed when i need to be heard in small to medium venues when that time comes. the next amp coming home this summer is a MeasBoogie express 5:50. i have a few guitars i already have in mind for that amp as well. sure i'll play a few of the "others" through it but you know what i mean, as goes on and on with my other amps and guitars.
i do think that a lot of folks dont put enough thought into the amps that they buy.
they dont mix and match their guitar and intent with the amp they buy.
i think the wrong amp can make a nice guitar sound like crap a whole lot faster than a amp making a guitar sound good.

Judging by the question and the list of choices, I'm guessing you don't need a gigging amp just yet, but you want one that will make some noise.
I know it's hard to resist all the shiny buttons and such, but for less than $100.00 USD you can buy a brand new (5 year warranty) Fender Frontman 25R.
It has aux in for your backing tracks, headphone jack, foot switch, reverb, a 10 inch speaker, and, of course, 25 watts output.
For an IC amp, I believe it offers the best value for the bedroom player.

My $0.02

I've been using my Blues Jr. as a livingroom amp for over a year now and can't say enough good about it.Unlike another responder I really like the overdriven sound of the Blues Jr.The B.J. when overdriven won't get you into Marshall raunch territory but gets you a great warm distortion that a real good overdrive pedal would get you.I've played everything from a Vox Phantom XII,Epi EJ-160 E-acoustic electric,Gretsch Tennessean to a Strat and Tele and no matter what I plug into it it sounds great.
