You'll get as many 'definitive' recommendations as to who is the ultimate best as there are stars in the sky. You'd have to listen to as many as you can and then decide for yourself. Frankly though, with so many outstanding pickup manufacturers out there, I'll bet you can find regular production models which will fulfill your requirements. I'm speaking for myself on this too as I could just as easily make them myself but I felt that there was no practical point in trying to 'reinvent the wheel'.

As always, this is merely IMO where YMMV.
