Hi Strat guys,

I'm absolutely newbie here and in Fender world.

I just got my first ever Strat in my hands: I was lucky enough to recently buy a quite rare CIJ '62 Reissue Premium ST62-TX/MH, that is a non-export japanese Strat (in stunning Jupiter Blue color with matching headstock) on eBay.
Well, first I didn't know what kind of Fender it is exactly, because the seller also didn't know, so I spent some time googling by the picture and found out how rare model is it.
I found it here: http://en.item.rakuten.com/badge/10002172/

And the pictures of my baby:

It has some custom gears, too: the bridge is black non-Fender and the jack socket is a black.
I did my homework again and after half an hour of research on the net I identified the bridge as a Gotoh Tremolo 1099T-W that was installed instead of the standard Fender S5D Vintage.

The Strat looks mint, almost like never played. I discovered only 2 minor scratches on it.
It also sounds fantastic, although I couldn't play much yet and my amp was set to very quiet because of the neighbors. Based on the specs there are Texas Specials in it.

Unfortunately, there was no case and accessories, neither the original tremolo arm.

Anybody can help how can I get such kind of black Gotoh tremolo arm?
I saw a black arm on Allparts, but that one for US models, they say.
Thanks.

BTW: Is it common to install such kind of bridge on a CIJ Strat, or is it a kind of Custom Shop stuff?
Because otherwise the guitar looks almost like brand new, I don't think that it was an aftermarket installation.

I've seen hardware deviations on many MIJ Contemporary Strat models, both in type and finish. But never on a vintage-spec re-issue.

If you can determine the thread diameter and pitch you may be able to find a suitable trem arm. Vintage-spec trem blocks are machined for SAE 10-32 treads. If you have a trem arm for a US-made AVRI or a MIM Classic re-issue, see if it will screw correctly into your bridge. Do not attempt to force it though. If it doesn't fit, you likely need an arm with metric threads. If it does fit, the black trem arm from Allparts will probably work.

HTH

Cool guitar, BTW......I love that color.

Thanks, Arjay!

I think, it's not the thread-in type of arm, because I saw a tiny Allen screw goes through the "bushing" (sorry, I don't know how to call that part) that should fix the bar. Most likely it's a push-in type.
I will measure the diameter.

I agree, that bridge is a bit strange on a vintage type reissue strat.

I realized that my bridge is rather a Gotoh 1055 Fulcrum, because it has the pop-in type arm, while the 1099 seems to thread-in...

Sorry, I totally forgot the topic.
I contacted Gotoh Japan and they were very helpful, they identified the bridge based on my pictures and suggested what part number I need to buy and I ordered it from Allparts.
It went smooth. :)
