Traveled to Memphis in the summer of 1996 and went to visit Graceland with my wife while there. What an awesome place. I was never a super big Elvis fan growing up as he was big a bit before my time, but my wife was so the trip was more for her than me. She actually saw him in concert twice. However, after the tour of Graceland I became a big Elvis fan. To tour the house and see the different rooms you hear/read so much about, not to mention his airplane and the general grounds around the home, really brought me closer to Elvis the artist and the person. If you're a blues/rock-n-roll fan the tour of GL is well worth the pilgrimage.
