The guitar is an HSS with ebony fingerboard and hard tail bridge assembly.
How do I find out how much it will cost me to get it built? I would post a photo, but I can't get it to upload. Thanks.

You can't get an estimate off of the Guitar Builder itself. There's just too many option you can customize. Plus, without a proper color chart, everything there would be color match and cost more. If you really want to know, head over to the Custom Shop Website and print off the price list for options on your guitar. Hope that helped!

i think there should be an official thread for people's renderings. and make it a sticky.

It would probably cost about $6,000.00 give or take a few thousand. That is the approximate cost of a Custom Shop Masterbuilt guitar. The Fender Guitar builder serves no purpose except to get people's hopes up. You have three choices when buying a new Fender guitar:

1. Buy from the standard production line. If nothing there matches what you want from Guitar Builder, tough luck. Buy the closest guitar available and mod it yourself.
2. Buy a Custom Shop Team Built guitar and do the same as #1.
3. Spec out a Custom Shop Masterbuilt guitar to match your Guitar Builder guitar and open up your checkbook.

I think it is irresponsible of Fender not to put some sort of disclaimer on their Guitar Builder saying that what you come up with may not actually be available for sale.

I enjoyed the guitar builder too. Anytime Fender want to use my three designs they are welcome. I would have to receive the first model of each run for my creativity of course.

bluesky636, may I remind you of an old saying? "I can dream, can't I??" I think daydreaming is the main purpose of the Guitar Builder.

Dream all you like. The OP asked how he could find out how much it would cost to build what he came up with. I believe I answered that question.

i dunno. strats are inexpensive enough to modify if you already have one. i think it's a good way of contemplating modifications.

Yes, you did. Not arguing that point at all. Maybe a disclaimer, as you said, would be in order on the G.B. I wasn't trying to be a smarta$$, so don't take it the wrong way.

I was afraid that would be the case. I'll just look around for an American HSS with a fixed bridge and mod it myself. Thanks guys.

Like 2nd poster said, the only way is through the fender custom shop. Then again the custom shop might not have the exact color you want, since the builder is using an RGB slider to customise the color. But they should have most of the parts you look for in a guitar.
