I will contact the CS guy from Fender in private and ask the same questions I posed to their consumer relations desk. I appreciate his gesture and will correspond with him directly. I see no reason to share my questions or his response with people such as Mr Ninja and his online sidekicks.

Buh bye. Your sparkling wit and personality will be sorely missed.

Bluesky - you must be quite proud being an online sidekick! I'd get that on your resume ASAP.

I'm pleased to say that I have a great deal of respect and admiration for several of the people that have posted in this thread, especially Rob. For you, not so much.

ChrisCarter--

Hopefully you'll get the answers you're looking for from Rob.

I, like many of the other responders to your original post, have contacted Fender Customer Service with the serial numbers of my guitars (Stratocaster, Telecaster, two F-series acoustics) and been given ample information...some information may not be available, but I'd like to see you call your television's manufacturer and get similar minutae/information; some records just aren't kept.

By the way, in Fender-speak, CS is a common acronym for Custom Shop, so maybe you should find another way to abbreviate "customer service," if you will humble yourself enough to grace our presence again.

Back to the original subject, and some of your responses. Nobody said that Fender's customer service system was perfect, nor did anyone try to flame you on; they just tried to point you in the right direction. Well, in the words of Dorothy Parker, "You can lead a $@!&# to culture, but you can't make her think!"

Enough with your jackassery--be gone.

The OP has a guitar and states he can,t get info from fender. The next person to post just signed up and is basicly advertising his web site for getting such info. This sounds alittle fishy to me.

Hadn't noticed it, looking at the beginning of the thread, and
The very next post, it does seem that way huh?

Senor Armadillo - Who are you trying to impress with your last post...those on this thread who use fictitious names and whom you will never meet...or yourself? Just saying things most people only have the balls to think, not say.

Girlfriend? No, my lovely wife of eighteen years, the incomparable Lady Armadillo, would not permit that...but she's as much woman as any man could ever want, so I'll be satisfied there.

Hobbies? Guitar player, harmonica/harp player, songwriter, singer, bandleader, vintage microphone enthusiast, builder of well-thought-out pedalboards...and I can now add "Irritant to Internet Forum Trolls" to the list. So that's taken care of...

No, I'm doing ok. I just hang around here to rap about music and stuff.

Why were you here, again? Was it to get an answer about your Stratocaster (which was offered to you multiple times from multiple persons) or to gripe?

Chris,

I don't really know what to say to you but I will try to offer some insight.

First, I can probably be accused of being an 'online sidekick' to Nikininja. I can vouch he is a great guy with a vast array of knowledge on a lot of subjects that are of relevance to this forum and has personally helped me out with advice on gear and I have a great deal of respect for his knowledge and I know that many other members do.

Secondly, if you read other posts in this forum, you will see there are many with a VAST amount of knowledge about Fender products. Niki's suggestion of checking with user, chromeface went unheeded and this, to be honest is your loss. Just because people don't work in a customer relations dept, doesn't make them less knowledgable. I worked as a satellite television engineer for a while so I can tell you about satellite receivers till the cows come home and explain the nuances of where in the UK someone's address lies within the 'footprint' whereas, the customer services of that company have a 'script' with basic information. They could give you a tech sheet, explaining different services but they couldn't tell you the actual reason that some brands of receivers work better in different regions or why certain cables are better for certain jobs or what types of circuitry is within their equipment whereas I could - Iwored with the equipment for 10 hours a day for about 3 years and would possibly/probably disagree with the manufacturer's advice/specs/info. :?
This is similar with Fender, they can give a spec sheet, at times, but even then it is quite vague in areas covering a very broad range of details about your range of instrument, not necessarily the individual guitar. Sometimes, the nature of a question or query means that, rather insult someone with a vague, wishy washy response, it is more appropriate to say 'I don't know' - I will add that this can be infuriating as even if there were to be a 'I don't know but I will try to find out,' could be better but that is where this forum comes in.

I will point out that, recently, there has been a barrage of first time posters on here that start their membership with a complaint and when people try to engage them there has been dogs' abuse hurled. Not a nice atmosphere does that make!!

There are members on here who can be verified by the moderators that come on here that they are a HUGE wealth of information and advice.

CAn I also say that, yes, I am 'pappawookee' and am quite offended at your 'faceless' users accusations. I am pappawookee for several reasons, it is my nickname from a personal experience, my e-mail and, yes, it offers me some anonymity from 'real life'................. sue me. Seriously though, there has been a spate of advertising programs and spam bots getting through the sign up process and I like a bit of privacy but some people on here do knw my name as I use it in private messages, but to stp any accusations, and the fact I have been on here a while now.........Hi everyone, I'm Evan, I am 33 and live in Aberdeen, Scotland..........

Finally, CHris I have to say your last post to Niki was extremely rude.............what's with that? You have actually been given ample opportunity to use the advice that was given several times and told which direction to go in and your responses have been pretty negative all the way through . I just don't understand that.

I strongly advise getting in touch with Rob and I also advise having a good read through the forums and you will see all of what I have spoken about, sharing knowledge, having a $@!&*, cameraderie and many many laughs and lots of guitar chat and general life chat (man I make us sound like a Women's Guild...............sorry guys   )

Peace CHris and take care whatever you do.

Some feeble minded lack wit, who's ill thought out lies display his transparency. So his ulterior motives are visible to all, tells me to get a life and allures to me needing help to understand his inane guttural ramblings. What a laugh, you could sell tickets for that Chris, take that show on the road mate.

Chris all I did was see the flaws in your mentality and point them out so you could hopefully alter your mindset. I certainly need no assistance from some joker with a point to prove. In fact, I'd be looking at how to better use my time, if all I could think to do was post on some website about how bad a certain aspects of the website owners business is.
The fact is that very few of us here have ever had a problem with FMIC customer service. Yet you publicly refused assistance from the manager of that department.
I've taken nothing out of context. I've simply pointed out the flaws in some idiots thinking.

It is customer service by the way, not consumer service. If you'd expended the effort you claim to have done in contacting FMIC Customer Services, you'd have likely picked that up by now. How many people do you know that eat guitars?
Want me to send you a dictionary? I will, As long as you promise you won't eat it.
