I rewired my HH Strat so that I could use 2 Volume knobs and one Tone. I didn't find any diagrams on the web that really worked for a Fender Stratocaster. The tone knob is for the neck, middle and coil tapped positions. I needed the tone for Jazz playing and rhythm through the neck pickup. I use the bridge pickup for a straight up distorted lead sound with plenty of harmonic overtones so I never needed a tone control for the bridge. The added bonus is the tone for the coil tapped positions seems to really be enhanced now. The pickups now really sound like single coils when I switch to the 2 and 4 positions on the 5 way super switch. To get the single coil sounds, you need to crank both volume knobs to 10. With this configuration the 5 way switch controlling is in reverse (i.e. bridge pickup is the up postion and neck position is down).
Conclusion, this mod definitely brings out the guitar's tonal capabilities and works the pickups to their fullest.
