Hi!

What would be your first choice for a strat for funk?
What do you think are the essentials for a funky strat feel and sound?
After basic models, what replace pickups etc. have you considered/used?

I'm playing a lot of 70's/80's soul funk at the moment. Getting decent results with my usual mid's up but clean sound.
I use my 57Hotrod Strat a fair bit. Though in truth, I'm favoring my Tele that has a CS Broadcaster bridge pickup.
Whatever I use I keep the mids up, gotta have it sounding percussive.
