The bodies of many entry-level Squier models are thinner dimensionally than those built, marked, and sold as Fenders. Thus, a full-size trem block is too deep to fit these guitars without the bottom of the block jutting out from the trem cavity recess at the back.

Other Fender parts may be used to upgrade these instruments -- pickups, wiring, tuning machines, etc. However, the bridge has always remained problematic.

what about the higher quality squier guitars? would bridge saddles be an issue?

I believe those are built closer to standard Fender specs -- bridge parts should interchange okay.

Yes the SE has a full size body. The SEs, Classic Vibes, Deluxes, Standards, Vintage Modifieds etc all have full size bodies. Only the bullets and Affinities have thinner bodies.

Is there a summary of the current squier models somewhere? Something like a table of all the various models with dimensions, prices, etc, would be nice.

I heard the same thing. I have a classic vibe series and it is compatible with mexi metric hardware and modern string spacing.

btw are you coming to Toronto this summer? If you are, PM me we can jam.

A Steel block will fit perfectly fine in your CV, Put a few in them myself

As you can you see there is plenty of room left in the cavity

It also depends on the year it was made, I think like pre-2004 they were different specs

i have a 2008 classic vibe series, and so far everything is interchangeable with fenders... fit and finish is comparable too.

Those CV's are pretty nice as well as a good value for the $$$.
