Post subject: i want to paint my 1963 stratocaster

i want to paint my 1963 stratocaster it was stripped to a natural color but i can see the original paint inside it looks dark blue do you guys know a professional guitar painter that will restore it to the original color ?

There are dozens of reputable guitar refinishers,it would help if we knew what area you live in as then we could most likely suggest a restorer in your area.BTW if you are any good with a spray paint can there are companies that produce original spec paints for Fender guitars.

The darkest blue listed in the '63 custom color chart was Lake Placid Blue, similar to this shade on my CIJ '65 re-issue......

Any competent guitar refinisher should be able to replicate this paint job.

Unless God has a part time gig in your local paint shop, just leave it alone.

Not a plug, as I haven't used him personally, but have heard good things from others. Also, I have spoken to Mark a few times and he's a great guy.

Brother, do not paint that guitar. Just leave it be. You would be better off buying another guitar in the color you like.
