sorry I wrote that wrong .01 of a mm or so, i'm using a feel gauge and a caliper that I use for reloading. I set up my other guitar (Ibanez) without any help, just having a little trouble with the fender.

Ceri, I will prolly just do as you suggest as I'm for sure not an expert in this, thanks for you info, let the guy that knows what he's doing set it up. :D

Hi tpdoff: it's a good approach. Some of the finest players on the planet have their guitars set up by professionals. No shame in it in the slightest - in fact, stylish.

Let the tech to the set up: you concentrate on playing the instrument.

Way to go.

Cheers man - C

Depends on what causes the buzzing.
My strings buzz in themselves, no action problems.
It could be my funny hearing which accentuates those frequencies, but I hear them tizzing.
I suppose the strings have harmonics which younger, tinnitus free ears, can't hear.

Oh to be young again.

a lot of that lil extra buzz can be adjusted out with raising the action a bit ok.
depends on what you want and how much your willing to live with. everything has a price.
i do suggest you shop around on finding a repairman. its plain and simple. if you tell me you can get the buzz out. then do it. i dont want no excuses when i get back as to why its still there. i hired you to do a job and it didnt get done. i dont get paid for trying so why should you. i let them know up front about that. im not an azz about it but i make my expectations known up front, so do they when they tell you the price.

yeah, it's really not a big deal. The buzz isn't bad, like i said before, can't hear it all through the amp, crystal clear. I will have the tech look at it, if he says that's the best we gonna get it and still have decent action then I'm good with that.
