so my best bet are the 57/62s? all i need are neck and middle since im running a duncan custom custom in the bridge.

after messing with the settings on my amp, i've started to like the pickups i installed.

they are originally from a standard fat strat. are those tex mex pickups?

I'm not sure if the Fat Strat uses Tex-Mex pups but Tex-Mex pickups have a tone much like the 57/62s but are hotter.The 50s are very hot and you can't quite get the bell like tone of the 57/62s which as I said have the closest to the Jimi/SRV tone unless you want to pay $15,000+ for a 62-65 Strat.

i'm using the plexi model on my peavey vypyr with the gain at about 2/3.
