Hi,

I'm new to this forum and i'm new to Fender. I'm thinking of buying a Fender MIJ relic strat which looks really nice in my opinion, but there is something weird and don't really trust.
The neck has a floyd rose saddle, but the guitar has a normal bridge. I've never seen a Fender like this and would like to know if its a fake or a 'putted together' guitar.

I can buy this guitar for 275euro which is 385,55 dollar. The guitar has a Dimarzio Tonezone as bridge pick up.

Here are some pictures!
Hope you can help me out! And thanks in advance!

Welcome to the Forum and Fender guitars. The guitar is not original. The parts look to be Fender, just not from the same guitar. The neck has had a locking nut installed, the bridge is not original, nor are the saddles or tuners. The Neck and Body are more than likely from two different guitars...bodies with two tone sunburst does not come with a rosewood fretboard, neck should be a one piece maple neck or it should have a three tone sunburst finished body. Don't think the humbucker is original either.

FWIW

Thanks for the info you gave me! I'm glad I stopped by here before actually buying it! Not gonna buy that guitar. Only bad thing is... Still no strat for me!:( This was one of the few 'payable' strats (poor student hehe)

Thanks T2!

If you are a poor student and the price is right, it still may be worth checking out. Many partscasters play and sound just as good if not better than anything coming out of the Fender factory.

If the guitar was put together right and the components are quality what's the difference for a guy on a budget?

If the price is really right, you can always upgrade pups and other electronics along the way.

The only time all that originality stuff really matters is if you're a collector and few of us on the board today are going to live long enough for a modern guitar to become a valuable collector (our kids or grandchildren maybe but us, even a starving student, doubtful).

Now, if I had a custom shop or unmolested US made Strat, I'd most likely not go changing stuff, but one someone else already changed, go for it if the thing plays well and sounds good.

Jeff

I think that is a very cool looking guitar, and for the price I would consider it.
What is the first letter of the serial number?

Very good point you made! But I don't really know much about Fenders and I don't want to be fooled by a guy that sells fake Fenders with a decal logo on the headstock or a Squier body/hardware with a Fender neck. But I don't know how I can recognize that yet hehe. Thats why I came to this forum, just to get your opinions. So me, as a Fender noob, like to have a simple Fender to start with:)

At the moment I can't contact the seller since he's moving to another house and has no internet till friday. I asked him about the Floyd Rose saddle and the normal bridge on the guitar and i'm really curious what he's going to say!

If he comes with a good and trustable answer i'm going to look at the guitar this weekend and see how it plays and sounds. 275euro isn't that much for this guitar, so maybe I will still buy it!

Thanks for your reaction!

@Strat-1971
I mailed him with that question, but I think I will hear that this friday!
