I got a guitar kit off of E-Bay to try my hand in some entry-level guitar building. This is what I ended up with. A dual humbucking shredder! Floyd Rose, some cheap but pretty decent humbuckers, Adler body, maple neck, Grover tuners. It came in raw form, I love the look of treated wood so I spent a lot of time staining the body and covered it in layers, upon layers of high-gloss clear coat. I am quite proud of myself, LOL!

It was VERY fun!! The cost was nothing horrible. If you can afford a MIM Strat, you can build a rock-solid guitar exactly the way you want it. I would suggest trying it someday, I'm addicted, LOL!

This is especially good for a first build project.

Nice work!

Thanks guys! Being that it was my first project, its not 100% perfect. Now that I have an idea of this process I know how to do things more efficiently. I still want to polish the clear coat some more and I would like to coat the neck in Nitro ( I LOVE that high gloss, smooth neck feel). Also I need to go over the fret ends a bit as they hang off the fingerboard ever so slightly. So its not perfect but this was dome of the most fun I've had in a long time!! I plan to build a few more someday.

Nice job - I think it looks bada$$!

I'm considering a natural Tele build with black hardware which I think will be somewhat similar to yours - aesthetically speaking.

Get to work, LOL!!! It's an incredibly satisfying feeling when you finally plug in the guitar that you have spent countless hours building. Just remember to be patient at every point. I tried rushing the clear coat process and had to pay for it by stripping it and restarting, LOL! If you end up doing it, good luck and post pics!
