i would have to say that a tele is the most versatile guitar out there.

Not me. I'd say a Strat is the most versatile. Comparing a Tele and Strat, both un-modded, a Strat has more pickups and a 5 way switch resulting in more tone options for the player. It also has a whammy bar for people that like that kind of thing, which a Tele doesn't. In my opinion, Strat's are probably the most versatile guitars ever made.

well i guess that all depends on which tele your compairing it to doesnt it?

Yes it certainly does depend what Tele's you're comparing to. Obviously an American Deluxe Tele with an S1 switch will give you more tonal options than a standard Strat. That's why I specified "un-modded" in my post. Not only does that Tele in your vid have a tremolo, but it's got dual humbuckers. Nice guitar, but it's a variation of a Telecaster. Same with the 3 pickup Tele. Besides that, while that Tele has a whammy bar, most don't. You can get them with Bigsby's but you can also get hardtail Strats. A standard Strat gives the player more tonal options than a standard Tele, plus a whammy bar......not that I ever use one....

If you like Tele's more that's cool. I like them myself. I just think Strat's are more versatile.

Well I guess you can either change the pickguard or trade it in for an American Strat. I really like black with a white pickguard on a Strat. Not as much on a Tele but it's ok. I think black on black looks good on Tele's.

If you're lookin for somebody to help answer the Tele vs. Strat question, it's really just a matter of opinion and personal taste. I personally like Strat's better but there are alot of people who prefer Tele's. Both are great instruments. Play a bunch of each before making a choice. You'll get that advice over and over again not only from this board but from guitar players every where.

Swap the pickguard. It's easy, and there are many options. You could go chrome, anodized, diamondplate, moto, turtleshell, whatever you want. I personally think the white/black/whites on American Std. Strats are very boring as well. Check out Rio Grande's website and look at the '70s bicycle seat pickup covers and guards. Delightfully Tacky, yet Unrefined.
