Hello greetings from sweden! :D I am looking to buy my first strat. I have checked out the new Fender American Deluxe strat, I am into the sunburst, is some color better than the other? Is the aftermarket value higher on some color? I am thinking at the moment of buying either fender american deluxe strat 2 color sunburst(http://www.thomann.de/se/fender_america ... necksb.htm) or the fender american ash deluxe strat(http://www.thomann.de/se/fender_america ... t_mnts.htm). Which body has the best sound for rock/blues the ash or the alder? Is the color on the ash strat too much? I dont want a too strong color. On the picture the ash strat looks all right but I dont want it to glow when i pick it up from the box. If i buy the fender american deluxe strat whit alder body I can choose between C or V neck which is best? I have quite big hands and like too take some chords whit the thumb over the E and A strings. Open for suggestions but the ash strat is about as far up in price i can go(about). Please help me decide!

I will buy a practice/recording amp at the same time and i have I looked at the Super Champ XD is it any good?

Please excuce me for my bad english
Best regards John

I have been playing for 45 plus years. I have played everything out there and this is the only one that satisfies me. the clapton (here is my 2010 CS ltd. ed. daphne blue). all of the clapton's play great and can achieve a wide variety of tones. get one and you won't look at any others ! good luck

I prefer the modern C neck over the V neck, in a sunburst finish. But that's me. You should play both versions and see what feels best to you. Re-sale value is usually last on my list because I never intend to sell. Although if you do, sell you can always find a buyer, regardless of neck, color, style, etc. Resale value can easily be determined, just check ebay or craigslist.

Welcome to the forum, liddan! :D

I like the look of the ash deluxe, myself.

Have you considered an American Standard strat?
