Hi,

I am having unnecessary troubles buying a replacement guitar neck for my American Standard. The guitar has been sitting at the local guitar service center Lottonen Guitars since the last fall and Fender Scandinavia has still not confirmed the order. I have tried to reach somebody at Fender Scandinavia directly, but without luck. I have called to Fender UK, but they are telling me I need to go through Fender Scandinavia. I have emailed to Fender customer service and they replied me that Mr. Benty Ökvist at Fender Scandinavia will contact me - but he didn't. After a while I resent an email and asked what to do - no help.

I also read the Forum rules where it was said that no customer service related posts should be mailed here. However, I have tried all customer relation channels I could come up with and the bottom line is that I still don't have the replacement neck. This is not even the full story, all this began few years ago already. As much as I like the Fender products, it should not be this difficult to have the guitar serviced. I can't believe I am the only one.

Would somebody have any good contacts at Fender who to talk to? Or have ideas how to get this sorted out? Please feel free to contact me directly.

Best Regards,
Reijo Jalava

It is my understanding that Fender does not sell replacement necks bodies etc.

To get original replacement parts you will have to find someone with a neck from another genuine Fender guitar that will sell it. I think there is a vender on Ebay called "Stratosphere" that does this. I bought a genuine Fender 2008 stratocaster neck from him, and everything was good. The price was OK too.

There are others that make replacement necks and bodies. "Mighty Mite", "Warmoth" are two.

Hi oneal: actually, this is not correct. Fender will replace a defective or damaged neck on a like-for-like basis provided the owner approaches them through an Authorised Fender Dealer - exactly as rjalava has done.

rjalava, I have no idea what to say to you. You have done everything just as you should. I don't know why you haven't got your replacement neck - it normally takes a month or two for this process to work.

One suggestion is that you might send Rob Schwarz an email via the Consumer Services address on the contacts page of this website. He is an all round good guy and has sometimes been seen on this Forum solving people's problems for them in the past.

Please keep us posted on your progress. And the best of luck to you.

Cheers - C

Thanks Ceri for the correction. That makes sense for warranty purposes etc.
