Post subject: dating my jazz bass body

i picked up a jazz bass body.i think its a 70's.does anyone know how to date these with the markings on the neck pocket?its stamped by pedro m has 2372 f/r/r/ 15 stamped also.i know pedro m was indeed an inspector,but what year is this.also it weighs around 9 lbs. i think its ash? help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!billcline1964

Is the neck pocket designed for 3-bolt or 4-bolt neck installation? I think the Jazz Basses changed over late in the '73 model year. As well, I recollect ash being used only on the natural-finished bodies. You might try re-posting this question in the Jazz Bass section of the forum -- more bassists read those questions than those here in the Strat section.
