By the way.... an article in a recent issue of Premier Guitar echoes some of what was said herein, in that the first mod which was done to an MIM strat was replacement of the pickups, so you're in the pocket in that department. I did that with my MIM Buddy Guy Polka Dot, swapping out the stock pups for a set of DiMarzio Vintage Blues/Heavy Blues which were noiseless.

just got the guitar from the shop all new strings and setup + nwe redish tortois pickguards and s-5s!
its a killer!
