Hi taib,

Very nice looking guitar! The Standards are some fine Strats. Yes, the neck plates are blank on the Standards, and the dot spacing is correct. The finish looks good to me, what do you see as wrong with it? If you are referring to the body relief on the back being all black, that is normal for a Standard also.

I enlarged the photo of the entire guitar. The position markers are spaced correctly on the neck, but it appears that the low E is shifted closer to the neck edge than the high E. Nothing unusual. All that is needed is to loosen the four neck bolts slightly, hold the guitar body tight, and shift the neck until the two Es are spaced evenly from the neck edges.

I have Fender SCN pickups in my MIM Standard. I replaced the tuners with Schaller locking tuners. I replaced the electronics with a better grade CRL switch and teh pots with CTS pots. I also replaced the bridge saddles with stainless steel ones from Guitar Fetish and the bridge block with a steel one, also from Guitar Fetish.

Not sure which model you have so be sure and measure the string spacing before replacing anything with regard to the bridge.

the bridge will make a noticable difference, if the pots are scratchy then thay can be cleaned otherwise if there are no problems with it then you shouldnt need to change anything unless you want to change the tone, you could ecperiment with different k rating pots and changing the cap...

as for the body wood, i couldnt enlarge the images but from looking at the pics it looks like it could be ash or alder... looks like ash to me... cant realy see properly though

Welcome to the Fender Lounge!

Great guitar man, I love the sunburst with white pickguard.

I was looking at the Seymour Duncan Hot Rails for my strat. They've got mp3 samples on their site of all of their single coil-sized humbuckers. To me the Hot Rails sound great, and the Lil' 59 was really good too.

Hi and welcome to the forum,I have 3 MIM Fenders-2 Strats and a Tele-and I wouldn't change a thing about them including the pups.If you are considering popping in new pups though check out the Tex-Mex-they're just great.Enjoy your new Strat.

Welcome. I expect that you know that its a 2006 serial number, and not beyond modding to the nines' if you see fit.

'To the nines' Grasshopper. It's a well worn phrase which denotes 'completeness'.
