OK i have a stratocaster deluxe but i dont like it very much. i like the ashwood and maple fretboard but it came with an S1 switch that i junked and had american standard wiring and replace the noisless/toneless pickups with seymour duncans. but the bridge... its the deluxe machined steel saddles and i hate the look. i want the old school bent metal fender sadles. but my sadles have an offfset screw so i dont think i can replace the saddles. but i also have a 2 point system id like to keep. how can i get that vintage saddle and look without getting rida of the 2 point system cause then i gotta redrill holes which i dont wanna do.

Since you're loath to make any mods to the existing bridge, I'm afraid you'll need to replace it with one designed specifically for symmetrical saddles. Be sure to add a steel trem block while you're at it.

Go to Callaham: http://www.callahamguitars.com/partsstr.htm
They make exactly what you need, a cold-rolled steel block and the offset saddles. You should have the 2-1/16" string spacing, but measure it to be certain. I had to make my own back in the 90's before they were available:

Just to clarify, I modded the saddles, but I didn't make the block. It was a music store find and I don't know what it was originally for.

Fender does make the 2 point brigeplate with holes for the traditional sadles. That's what came with my 50s Player. I'm not sure if you can order it on its own however.

People are already parting out CP Strats on Ebay. I sure a bridge may be found there.

Or an American Standard bridge is a two-point with vintage style saddles. Another simple way to go.

i thought the american standards had a 6 point screw system with classic saddles. also someone told me nickle plated saddles give u a rounder more classic sound. it makes sense to me as nickel wound string often sound much nicer than stainless wound. (go figure) lol actually they said nickel plated copper but that didnt sound right i figured they just meant stainless coated in nickel.

The American Standard bridge is a two-point with bent-steel saddles and has been for the last 3 or 4 years. Not only that, but the saddles aren't offset. I'd look for one of these.

Keep your bridge plate and arm, change the block and saddles. This is probably the least expensive way to go, and the parts of the bridge that need the upgrade will be done. Nothing wrong with the factory bridge plate; no need to replace it unless you don't like the look of the offset saddle length screws.
