I dont know what's the best forum for this so i'll just stick it in stratoforum 8) . I have a new Strat on the way a Mij E series :D , I want to change the pick ups and dont have the chance to play all the different Pick ups. Can anyone tell me how Texas Specials compare with say 69CS or Fat 50 CS pick ups :?: I just cant get past my TS's the are just so dynamic and full and rich, Every other strat i have picked up sounds well thin.....Is there another fender made pick up with the full dynamic response of the TS :?: I cant have two TS's strats i should have some varity, I have tex mex's in another strat and well there fun but they just dont respond to sesitive playing anything like the TS's and they are lacking so much mid in comparrasion. Help!!!! :? I know you guy's out there in Fender fourm world will have answers!! I guess i need answers from people that feel the same rich mid and bottom end tonal quality out of the TS's i do...... All help would be greatly appreciated!!! :wink:

Why not play this new Strat for a while after it arrives and give the stock pickups an honest chance? You might be surprised (pleasantly).

That said, if it's "fat honky mids" you want, I can personally attest to the tone of Fender's Fat '50s set......100% pure beef.

Cant attest to the Fat 50s, but I have a 59 thinskin with CS 50s as well as a SRV with TSs and its nice having some differences.Nice honkey mids and very nice glassy vintage strat sound .

I like both ts and cs 69s. Haven't tried the cs fat 50s
But heard good things.
I used my cp 60s with 69s for the king of the blues, on a
Twin reverb cranked up to 8 or 9, the 69s had a cleaner
Break up sound. Due to the scooped mids

I know for a fact my other strat with tx spcls would have
Broken up sooner, grittier more Texas blues od sound.

Amen - I have a CP 60s w/the 69s, and if I had one complaint about the guitar, it's the fact that the middle pickup is not rwrp.

"RWRP" = reverse-wound, reverse polarity

This provides hum-cancelling (ie: a humbucker configuration) in switch positions 2 & 4.

having the middle pickup not reverse wound reverse polarity is not a bad thing,
i personally love the tone i get in the inbetween positions with a little overdrive, its a great tone i think.
also, my cp 60s bridge has no tone control, i love flipping from position 4 to position 1(bridge) with overdriven lead tone and back to neck. i think it adds alot of character to my soloing.
