I am hoping the p/u change will make the difference I want, I love the action and low frets on it. It reminds me of when I was a kid going over to older musicians houses and they would have a 60's or 70's strat, kinda feels like that in terms of feel, nice and broken in. I did decide to try and get the original finish back as much as I could, but still keeping a VERY light reminence of the finish it has on it now...if ya know what I mean....cause if you do, tell me, cause I am still trying to figure out how to do THAT one!!!

This is it all put together, minus the trem arm. I am gonna play it, which I do regularly on the sofa, til the strings need changing. Thats when I am gonna change the pickups and electronics out for a more modern high output sound. ImageImage

Hey Guys,
Heres a little info I found out on the Strat I did not know on it. This come from a guy who has been playing Strat's and Tele's since the 70's, so it's not 100% verified, but he has seen his fair share and knew what he was looking at right away. Although the rediculous paint job is covering the body, and judging by the Locking Style Trem, it is an 80's Strat 1 Body, not USA but possibll MIJ, original electronics, but custom pickguard...which I think is cool as hell cause of the tolex look and feel. The neck is in fact a Fender neck, it is a replacement neck, but it is a Fender replacement Neck. the signs are in where the headstock meet the neck, there isnt the "V" shape you have on copies, and a few other things he pointed out to me. So...now I gotta bring this one to Ghrunns to find out the origins of this one, is it a beauty that is hiding behind an ugly experiment, ot just a VERY good copy using some time corroect parts? Either way, I know it has some early era hardware parts on it, so I thinks it's for sure getting checked out. After all, my friends has never steered me wrong in the Fender department and I trust his instinct fully....HERES HOPING SOMETHING GOOD COMES OF THIS!!!!!!!!!!!! NOW THATS AFTER i DO A LITTLE CLEANING IF THE CRAPPY FINISH THAT WAS LAID UPON THIS BEAUTYM: )

i wonder if some spirits can wipe that new paint right off down to the old?
we did that yrs ago with a friends second hand buy. somebody painted the guitar a
semi flat blk and it was originally a orange body. worked out pretty good and the orange polished up pretty good. it was kinda cool looking cause the nicks and dings were blk inside. call george and send him the pics he requests. if he looks at it in person and does a complete disassembly, which is what he will suggest, it starts at $250 and goes up from there. the positive side is you will know what every little piece on that guitar is and what time frame it came from, and it will be documented with his signature at the bottom.
his signature is one worth paying for.
