Hellow Guys
how are you?
My name is JP. im Brazilian but i live in Germany.
im 31 years old and i love music in general. Specific Metal
but i also like Blues, fusion jazz, rock, electronica, flamenco, classical, alternative, grunge and last but not least new wave/darkwave/ ambient and atmospheric music

im here to make a question to you :
Which neck profile do i have in my fender ?
Its a Fender American Standard Stratocaster with the flag on the headstock: 40 years of the stratocaster.
and also on the neck plate theres this "40 years and still rocking"

im asking that because i love this neck. i feels like a c or a U shape but i didnt tried too much fender necks so i dont know.
tomorrow im going to test a American special that has the MOdern C shape and ill see if i like it
i want a guitar with the 6 screws bridge and inexorably the 70s big headstock
then i have the american special or the highway one to choose from. both with modern c shapes
ill see tomorrow but can you guys forward this information for me?

im posting pics of the guitar
the Pickguard is not the original. i swaped it for a hand made mahogany burled maple top.
the original is a sandwich SSS . aside from the pickups and the pickguard and now the graphtech nut i installed.. its all original.

Thank you guys very much in Advance

ahahah I cant help myself too. ahahaha
i played through a Fender American SPecial today and the neck ISNT The same
it has the MODERN C shape and its slimmer than mine.
so mine is either U or C or even THICK C Shape.
ahahahahaha holy $@!&.
but the american special felt a little bit inferior than my guitar. the body is thinner and lighter and the neck also feels like that.
so now im considering either keeping my fender and changing tunners and bridge , or selling the neck and ordering a cbs usa neck. but that would have to be Modern c shape or the same shape of my guitar.
otherwise i wont be satisfied.

Necks can vary a bit; you might want to try to find a few other American Specials to try out. Your '94 40th Anniversary American Standard does have a "modern C" neck; however, the necks were really a lot more variable back then. Sounds like your guitar has one with a neck on the thicker side; I've also played ones from the early 90s with pretty thin necks - it's kind of luck of the draw. Your guitar would be closer to the current American Standards than the current American Specials in terms of hardware, etc. The American Specials are good guitars, but they are built to be a less expensive model than an American Standard.

Also don't go for a CBS-era neck; you'll find that the majority of them will have a very different neck than your guitar - narrower nut width, rounder radius, smaller frets - and therefore will feel very different than what you are looking for.

I would almost suggest building a guitar from parts to get what you want instead of trying to redo your '94.

Hello
q:)
thank you for your post
i just tested the american special
i liked it but it feels cheaper than my guitar
plus the neck is slightly thinner but not a big deal at all.
but the "cheaper than mine" guitar forced me to gave up on the trade
so now ill keep mine
i thin mine has a thick C or a C shape instead of a modern shape
or just like you said.
luck.

i took the neck off and ill make a post here .. i want to identify it or to make sure its legit

It's basically a 1994 American Standerd with some extra badging.
