Edited to announce I've sold this guitar!

My most recent acquisition, a stock Blackie at a steeply discounted price (thank you Best Buy Kansas City!). Didn't really care for the way the original pickguard was so I got an affordable replacement on eBay. Just curious on what y'all think. Please Vote!

1 = You like it stock

2 = You like the change

Thanks!

Agreed that "Tuxedo" look does set it off nicely...but, it all boils down to what makes you happy.

Great looking strat!

Tuxedo for sure.
IMO would look really great with a red tortise scratchplate.
I'm a sucker for all things pearlescent though!

Thanks for the positive comments, gang! If anyone has any pics of other colored pickguards (like the aforementioned tortoiseshell red), pleast post! I'm open to suggestions or a spontaneous flurry of ideas!

if it were mine, I'd also change the knobs and pup covers to black. Black on black with the maple fretboard is my favorite color combination for Strats.

I do like the Gilmour Black Strat look though. On second thought, don't change a thing. It looks great.

LOL, my original plan was to go for an all black stealth look but finding black vintage noiseless covers has been impossible thus far. I have a set of aged white ones from another set of VNs that I spray painted black with a special spray paint for plastic (supposed to bond to plastic especially well according to the can) but I haven't installed them yet. I have the volume and tone knobs in black already, I just need a black switch tip...

Love the Black on Black. IMO switching the knobs and P/U covers to black also would be too much black.

My vote goes for the black pickguard but with black knobs and covers!

Mine is similar though with a black pearloid pg and black knobs. I have the covers for my pups but I really like the white contrast of the pups.

i left my pups and knobs white as the pin strip around the guard really sets them off.
