Do the new saddles on the USA Strat make any difference to the sound? I have played Strats fitted with both the vintage style and the later USA Standard saddles, not a lot of difference as far as I am concerned, just a case of well thats vintage syle, so it must be better. Anyone tried side by side testing? If there is that much of a difference why did they not put them on the top of the range VG Strat last year?

It's basically about what you like better, that's all. I don't see why one is better than the other.

I'll take vintage style anytime.

I've changed all the original Fender bent steel saddle segments in all my vintage strat bridges. The sound is better and the strings last longer with the aftermarket saddles.

From what I can gather, the new revised saddles, bridges, and trem blocks in the 08' strats look even nicer than the aftermarket bits I've installed!

What did you replace them with? Graph-tech perhaps?
