Ralf,

I bought my nephew a CV 50 for Christmas. It was White with maple fretboard and gold aluminum pickguard. Its a sweet guitar and I think you will be happy with the CV 50 all the way.

Best to you. Have a good time at College, as I recall that your headed that way.

i'm already there o'neal... i just need a guitar with no emotional attachment for me to use here... i'm sick of only practicing on weekends when i get home... if i go ahead with the idea i'm getting a lake placid blue and i'm still most likely modding it... let me just say you are by far the coolest uncle ever... i wish i could get my niece a nice squier she wants to play like her uncle  my sister had her in lessons but i think she's a little too young to start... if she does go far with learning i'd like to get her one though

It takes my tech about a week. They almost always have guitars they are working on, so turn around can be a few days. Don't rush them. I know going without a guitar can make you go nuts, but this is why I have more than 1 guitar.

i'm not worried about that i have my squier vm strat but the mim is my first guitar plus i'm anxious to hear it's sound without all the buzz in the background it has an awesome distortion sound plus trying out the slinkys are a plus... i've used d'addarios on her since i bought her

Sorry, going with out your #1 guitar can leave one a bit anxious. I am sure it will come back sounding better than when you left it. Good luck.

just got my mim... totally worth it... it feels as comfortable as my vm strat now the strings sound and feel incredible but not sure if i'll pick them over d'addario nickel wounds just yet... the guy offered the strings and it sounds amasing now without all the interference all for 25€
