I recently acquired a strat but and I'm just tryin to find out some info on it. I'm told it's 11 years old and it looks like a standard style strat however, the second tone knob pushes and pulls. It cuts something in the tone out making it sound almost tele-ish. The serial number is is N9376415. Can anyone help?

Hi comps-16,

From the sn, it is a 1999 to 2000 model. Posting some pics could help further identify the particular model. Or you can contact Fender with the sn for details.

I don't recall any Fender's having a push/pull switch that altered the tone back in '99, but never say never with Fender. I suspect that was a mod done by an owner somewhere down the line before you got the guitar.

As shimmilou says - post some photos for us to check it out and also contact Fender for more info.

like john said, that isnt a factory mod but it is a mod that a lot of people do ( including myself) from what youve said the push pull knob just engages the bridge and neck pickup which give it that "tele" sound... its a usefull mod to have, but if you wantto change it back yourself there are lots of wireing diagrams available off the net, if your experienced with soldering it shouldnt take you more than half an hour to compleatly re wire a strat
