Thanks for your comments badvibes. I think it is interesting to see them together as they are very different guitars. Different countries of origin, body woods, pickups, hardware etc and sound and feel very different when played. :)

I hope that '79 weighs less than my 25th Anniversary Strat did -- it was a real ball-buster at close to 16 lbs!

Arjay

I don't know how much the 79 weighs i have never had in on any digital scales. It is noticeably heavier than than the mim or squier which weigh about the same. Your 25th Anniversary Strat sounds very heavy at 16 lbs it must have been a good workout playing that! :D I don't think mine is anywher near that weight, i will have to get some scales and weigh it out of interest. What was the tone and sustain like on your 25th with all that weight and how long ago did you own it?

In the 8 or 9 years that I owned it, it never left my house!

I finally broomed it off in a trade for a Gibson Historic Shop '62 re-issue LP. To fill the "Strat gap" in my arsenal, I bought a new '99 MIM '50s Classic model. Best decision I ever made.

SC welcome to the forum. Nice guitars and the 79 looks near mint! And good to see you properly educating that youngster

As for the 16 pound Anniversary...now we know why Arjay has back problems...that is heavier than most Les Pauls!
