Purchased a new Fender Strat today....

Part Number: 0117402715

Serial Number Z1021993

Could someone please point me in the direction of the page on the Fender site that the spec's on this model comes up on. The dealer I purchased it from is what i guess you would call a "sub" dealer.......guitar is sweet, but I can find the above part number in the book that came with the guitar in the case.

Please email if you can help:

I looked a few series of Fender guitars and the series with the closet product codes is the Artist series. You may have a signature axe thats been discontinued. I don't know what signature guitars were available in 2001 and which aren't made anymore. I think your best bet is to try Fender support.

according to the fender page, your guitar was made in either 2001 or 2002. and is an American series guitar. it doesn't say anything other than that.

to get to the page you click on the Support tab on the Fender site, and click on the US made instrument product dating link on the side bar.

It appears your Strat was made between 2001 and 2002 according to www.guitardaterproject.org. This site does not show specs, but uses serial # to tell approx year and place of manufacture. If it is indeed a 2001-2002 guitar, this could be the reason you cant find current specs on the Fender site.

I don't know what these other guys are going on about, but 011-7402 is just an American Series "standard" strat. The 715 of the model number indicates the type of case and color. Check this out:

What I was going on about is that the new standards have a 0110400 product code. The closest to his was the artist series. There really isn't a resource for finding old product codes. How did you find that old diagram?

Well, that's not exactly true, is it? Lots of us have old catalogs and Frontlines and there is this very nice web site. So ...

Check out:
http://www.fender.com/support/wiring_diagrams_parts_lists.php

This lists models and upgrades going back to about 1999. While it's not exactly the "specs" that the OP asked about, it does have parts lists and I wonder what he needs to know anyway? He's got the guitar, can't he see the "specs"?

LOL, well...helpful as I like to be, I'm not about to dig thru old catalogs and such to find stuff for people. I did use the search function here to see if there was any reference to his product code and came up with nothing. Too often lately people have been asking questions without even bothering to look at the products section themselves. They seem to figure they can just ask the question and we'll do their research for them.

That is true. Some folks need to learn that Google (or even Yahoo) is their friend.

I like looking through old Frontlines. And I miss the Japanese Fenders.
