I used to have them in a MIJ 57 RI Hardtail... they sounded great. Wish I still had them and the guitar! They sound great... it's great how many choices there are for great sounding pups these days. Cheers.

They are awesome, I put a set in my MIM Strat and am currently refinishing the body (black to blue) and just ordered a Warmoth neck to turn her into a (hopefully) killer axe. the pups rock!

I had some in my American Special Strat and the Tele version of Texas Special's in my American Special Tele. I wasn't crazy about them. Too hot for my taste. I'm sure I could have tinkered with them, with the height and maybe replaced the pots to take some of the spice out of them, but there were other issues I had with the guitars as well, like the large headstock on the Strat and the jumbo frets on both which were just a bit too big for my taste. Don't get me wrong, both were quality instruments but I found better options to suit my own personal taste. I like vintage sounding pickups best, and while I could get good sounds out of the Texas Specials, overall I felt they were too hot and too noisey. I actually prefered Tex-mex pickups to Texas Specials.

But that's just me. Alot of people love the Texas Specials so they have to work well for some people.
