What would your definition of feel be. Is there a right or wrong answer?

in my opinion i don't think there is one guitarrist that likes the exact same things on a guitar as the next sure there are some lower quality ones that'll make everyone hate them cause of malfunctions (grounding issues, misplaced nut, sharp frets etc) but everyone likes diferent things on a guitar... feel to me is more about the comfort you get from a guitar when playing it...

I would define feel as the comfort level that you experience when you hold a guitar, especially the neck.A guitar with a comfortable neck would as far as I'm concerned be considered having a good feel.

Massively subjective and something that is unique to each and every person I would say, for me the comfort factor of the neck comes into play heavily, the shape, the finish, maple not rosewood etc.
Then of course there is the X-factor (no not Simon Cowell), just that certain something where you have a connection with a particular guitar or in most cases guitars.

With guitars and women...I know what I like and which ones have the right combination of physical "charm" to satisfy my senses when I hold them... :mrgreen:

There is no right or wrong answer, unless you feel there is one. >_>

interaction between your pick attack and the amp no matter what guitar you play and amp. that is what feel is. mine is between my l.p. and amp or my e.c. strat and amp. both offer a different "feel" i love them both.

IMHO its the ability to communicate some sort of emotion through your guitar, to other people. It needs a sympathy and understanding of the instrument that doesnt necessarily come through practice alone.

Very simple.
Feel = grope.
Questions?

:wink:

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

i kinda agree with this... i played two guitars recently and i felt i couldn't get through to them expressively i couldn't "play myself" through them like i do to my strats... the sound felt so artificial to me i don't know why though... i think that it's only cause i ain't used to humbuckers (both of them are humbucker guitars)...
