ive been using them since the 80s w/o 1 issue.

Ditto on the Ernie Ball strings. 8)

I have tried various strings over the decades, but then I always stick with Ernie Ball's. They sound great and last and last. I've gone a record 2 months with a set of Ernie Ball Slinky's 10-42. I could never do that with another string company - except maybe Elixir, but I have not tried them (too expensive for my taste).

D'Addario's are great and sound great, but after two weeks, they are dead and all nasty, grimey, and funky. I've tried wiping them down with Brasso, Windex, and even WD-40, and they still sound dead and nasty after two weeks.

Ernie Ball's are awesome and seem to last way longer than D'Addario, and like Way Cool Jr said, they are probably the most popular, most used string, in the history of guitar! 8)

Fender? Fender Bullets? Um....no. They die within days of putting them on. I mean, I love Fender and everything about Fender, but their strings are probably just meant to be shipped with a guitar. As soon as you buy a Strat, Tele, or even a P-Bass, just rip off the Fender strings and restring it with Ernie Ball.

butch dont get me started on these lol. i would rather resort to cat gut rather than use fender bullet strings.

Fender Bullets... The only string where you can actually watch them corrode and die...

yes i know. see, i like a bit of age on my strings ya know. the bright sound on new strings on 9's doesnt appeal to me. i like them about a month old. 10's 2 weeks of medium use, and 11's on my teles sound great right out of the box.
two days after new bullets and your risking tetnaus shots.

D'Addario 8-38s on all my electrics and 10-46 with a wound G on my acoustics.I do a lot of bending and sometimes bend 3 tones so with my smallish hands I need a super light string.Anyway guys like Tony Iommi,Billy Gibbons,Brian May and Jimi used them for years so who am I to argue?

I've tried the EB's and then Elixer, and then even the fender bullets....which did crap out very quickly, but I have gone back to D'Addario 10's....

Those are the strings my guitar teacher suggested after I started. Made me put 10's on for better tone...which most definitely helped.

I did try D'Addario 11's and felt like a total girl trying to do bends in normal tuning.

SRV...even tuned down the half step....playing with 13's???? I think the drugs and alcohol dulled the pain from ripping his finger tips off.

Currently it's Dean Markley Blue Steel 10s. Changed to them the day of guitar's purchase and will use them as the benchmark for compaison in the future. Guess EB Slinkys are up next.

D'Addario 10's for me. Great sound and love the 10 gauge feel, and fender 12's for my accoustic.

For my strats I use GHS Boomers 009-042's which I find are brighter sounding and last a little longer.

For my other electric guitars I use D'Addario's EXL120's - 009-042's

For acoustic - Martin 80/20 Bronze Extra-Light, 0.010-0.047's

(Re Fender Bullets....probably the worst strings ever made!)

My new Strat came w/bullets. My fingertips turned black after 5 minutes. ATM I'm using Elixirs. 9-42 & 10-46. They do indeed last longer. They also seem pretty balanced. They supposedly don't corrode (i.e. the wound strings) because of the coating, so I guess if you don't play a lot they'll last even longer. But because of the cost, I'm going to try D'addarios or Ernie Ball next. Probably nickel wounds.
