i have the "contemporary 5+1 hole tremolo" installed on my strat. i've changed strings and a few high strings just don't ring well.

to adjust this, i loosen the strings, loosen the 6 bridge screws a bit, adjust the springs till i get a 1/8" clearance from bridge-to-guitar base, then tighten the two end screws on bridge to finger tight, leave the 4 inside screws a bit loose?

kinda forgot the procedure as i only did this once when i first installed it.

what kind of strat did you install it on? I was thinking about getting one of those wilkinsons for my MIM roadhouse. How is the string distance? 2 1/16? I know the screws are adjustable from 2 1/16 to 2 3/16, but I am intersted in knowing what the string spacing is. I don't want it to be wide and falling off fretboard on low E string.
I thought I read somewhere string spacing is 2 1/8" and is that too wide? Thanks
