A wife encouraging the husband to get more guitars? You must live on Planet Bizzarro.

Well. That's one possibility. Can you think of any others?

I think we need to talk to more guys about this. My wife has seen me go thru 40 or more guitars. She really doesn't say a whole lot about it but she never encourages me to get more. I think she thinks it's kind of dumb. But she knows that guitars are part of what I do.

Talk to as many as you like. You'll get a variety of answers - it's been discussed enough times on the Forum in the past.

There isn't a right or wrong answer to this thing: only a fascinating glimpse into the different kinds of relationship people are running.

I'm feeling better and better about mine by the second. Life is good here in Bizarroland.

Cheers - C

god bless the wives... my girlfriend bought me loads of new guitar picks (i collect) on our first date...

Hi ralfcaetano: last Valentine's Day my wife gave me a heavy sterling silver plectrum with the words "I pick you" engraved upon it.

I can't go into a guitar shop with her without that she stands there saying; "Is that one good enough? Wouldn't a more expensive one be better? Wouldn't two or three guitars be nice? Ooo, look at this Martin, isn't it pretty? Buy it." Etc. Neat.

One time I was bidding on a very nice and rare orchestral snare drum on Ebay. I set myself a limit and when it was exceeded in the last couple of minutes of the auction I was very sensible and didn't bid higher. Then I kicked myself for days afterwards because I only missed it by a few bucks. Cut to Christmas about four months later: a nice big package under the tree which turned out to be... the self same snare drum. I'd been outbid by my own wife under an assumed name.

There's much, much better stories about Mrs C, but that'll do to be getting on with.

God bless wives indeed! 8)

Cheers - C

Good stuff, Mr C! You've definitely got a keeper! :D Sometimes it's good to be ensnared by a shill!

I consider myself lucky as well. Mrs. Kong carries a small tin of picks with her at all times for our unscheduled music store visits just so I don't have to ask for one.

From all we've seen Mrs Kong rates amongst the very best. :D

A smart, fun, beautiful woman: always welcome on her rare appearances here. And her need for fossil samples has not been forgotten: I haven't been able to get over to the particular cliffs in question since it was discussed - but I will!

Cheers y'all - C

:D The fact that my wife is not real interested in my guitar "collecting" and buying and selling is maybe a good thing. :D

We have a great time together me and her. Each couple has their own kind of thing. She's not a Yoko Ono wife. I'm glad of that. It wouldn't work for me. It works for some people though. I could not have her welded to my ribcage. That doesn't mean we're not fabulous though. She picked out a bass for me once and she bought me a P bass deluxe for Christmas. She won't let me sell the bass she picked out for me. She tells me that. I wouldn't sell it anyway.

It's all good.

This sure has become an interesting discussion! I'm a supportive wife because my husband hates to spend money, so when he decides he needs a new guitar (like a couple of years ago when he debated on a great deal on a friend's Seagull acoustic - I love mine and this one was way better) I push him to go for it. He doesn't drink, smoke or do drugs so when you live in the bush, there's not much else to buy!

We're still searching for the perfect one. I think that the satin red American strat was only made until 2006, at least that's what his research turned up.

Thanks for all the comments!

We are in the Central Interior of BC for the person who asked...

My wife bought me an amp. And it's not even my birthday yet.

Ain't that great?

Cheers
