So last week or so I found a basically new black on black w/rosewood blacktop strat with a vintage tolex case for 300.00 on CL, so I bought it. I set it up and have decided it's getting overhauled.
I am going to do the bridge/block/saddles first, and then electricals after. My question is what size to look for? This guitar is visually appealing but it ends there, to be fair my American special smokes and the ibanez that I just redid is evil wicked mean and nasty so it has competition.
Not sure which company I am going with yet as there are alot of choices but I'm going to do some research and just want make sure what I am looking at is correct, thanks ahead of time, Guy.

Ok porn to follow, sorry I'm a bit slow... Ive ordered my pups (nickel covers, mmm) and now I am trying to decide if I'm going to replace just the block and saddles or the whole bridge assembly.
Recommendations from the fender population are requested. One thing for sure, this ain't my American special! I play with a decked bridge and don't really plan to change that if that matters in this equation.

Thanks ahead of time, Guy.

Ok no replies but you guys are looking soo.. I've decided to go 2 knobs vol tone and I am gonna need a new black pickguard made for this. Any thoughts on where to find the best quality work for the money? And I swear, there will be pics but right now it's just another blacktop, nothing special to see, yet..

Why would you need to see another off the shelf blacktop strat to answer any question I have asked? And I have been to warmoth but I have to figure out if the screw spacing is the same on a mim as a mia..

And I do appreciate you reponse, I am aware that it's mim, trying to decide if spacing is the same as Mia cause at the bottom of the warmoth page it says mim may not be the same, and I don't see an option for mim spacing. Thanks for the reply.

ok try allparts. i dont know that there is a difference in spacing between the modern strats. maybe you can do some measuring in a couple key places and have either warmoth or allparts do the same. if worse comes to worse you could send them your guard so they can match it up. ive had a friend do that before with a access cover plate before.

All is ordered, the only pieces left stock so far are the string tree and tuners (which I am now looking for nickel tuners that will fit. When things arrive I will be sure to post lots of pics. :D Anyone knowing of nickel tuners that will fit mim I would love to know about them. :| btw I received the new bridge today, definitely a better block. If this thing turns out as badazz as I hope I may splurge for a nickel bridge too someday...
