At the very end of 2010 I bought a Mexican Standard Strat, but it has the MZ8- serial number. Does that mean it was made in 08? If so, why was it only sold in 2010? It showed no signs of use; the stickers were still intact, as was the pickgaurd cover, and the fretboard was still as new.

Just wondering what might have went down.

MZ8 indicates 2008 to 2009, could be as late as mid 2009 even, and apparently it just didn't sell until you came along. I have seen a few that just don't sell right away and hang in the store for awhile, not uncommon.
