The one feedback is scary.

I wouldn't be making that kind of purchase online, except from a well established vendor.

Something I've done in the past with this stuff is to ask for a phone number, and then call them. Most scammers will find a way to weasel out of giving you a number. The nice thing about that is the area code should match where they say they are. If you get them on the phone, tell them you know someone in the area who would like to come see it for you. They should agree to that. Best thing is to actually find someone in the area who can go look at it for you.

If you go ahead with it, use an escrow service that YOU came up with. Never use the seller's. Escrow.com is supposed to be good. I wouldn't bother with any of this if the seller had 300 sales under their belt.

It's probably too good to be true. I'd be very careful. I've bought a Harley-Davidson from an ebay seller and a 1966 Volvo. The Harley worked out great. The Volvo was not as described. Another way to put it: I'm learning to weld in new floors right now.

first, i personally would never buy a guitar off ebay.
guitars are to personal for me. i gotta play it before i pay it.
if your serious about the guitar and your willing to pay that much, then you should be willing to hop the first thing smokin and go look at it yourself.

I've never bought anything off of ebay. Never registered for an account.

Some years ago, I did let the drummer in my band sell a couple little things of mine to help get his history up.

Every ebay seller has to start somewhere.
This one appears genuine but of course you must be sure. SergeantStedenko's post contained some sound advice. Try to establish a relationship to ease your mind. The guys 1 feedback was afterall for a rather expensive Apogee Thingamyjig.
I personally like ebay and have had only good experiences. Both ebay and paypal offer great customer protection IMO.

Shopping on line is great. You have to be careful though, just like going to town.

Wyoming-SS now? The Camaros are cool, I think Dodge nailed the retro look better than anyone else with the Challenger, but, I bet you would still rock one, even with the new 392 Hemi out. Have fun, can't be to many cops on that highway

I know that everyone always says to look for lots if good feedback on eBay, but personally I don't believe in that.

I'm a nice guy (I think) and would always do my best to ensure an easy, reliable trade. However I have onoy ever sold a couple of things on eBay, therefore only have a couple of feedbacks. It's not because I'm a douche who scams folk, I just don't use eBay much. So if I did go to sell something, people may avoid me because of my feedback :-(

I've been on eBay as a seller and a buyer since 1998. Never had any interest in becoming a Power Seller, but I've sold a lot of different things on there with little or no trouble. I can't recall any bad experiences as a buyer, either, at least nothing we couldn't work out. Protections for buyers on eBay now are infinitely better than when I started. 1,460+ feedback - all positive - going back 11 years now. :D

I bought a '56 relic strat off ebay with no problems, however, as many have said, it is good practice to play them before you buy them ! just my opinion
good luck
Happy Easter

The guitar looks ligit and it has papers, but I agree I'm leary about anything on ebay. If I ever buy anything it's from a dealer and just cut ebay out of the loops.
