It shouldn't be a problem. A gauge change may require a re-set of the intonation and string height at the bridge though. In rare instances, you might need to alter the neck relief.

thank you.. but uhm.. hey.. i got another question.. how will i know if i over tighten both the claw screws at the back of my guitar? because i want to make it like a hardtail guitar.some said i should put a chunk of wood (at the back) then i should add two more springs and tighten the claw screws. i'm not using the whammy bar to stay my guitar in tune longer. i don't want to cause any kind of damage on my Strat :D better safe than sorry :)

Just tighten the claw screws enough to hold the bridge flush to the top of the guitar, and it stays when you bend strings. Here is a test.....play an open string, and bend another heavily, it will be set right when the open note does not lower in pitch while bending the other. :D

Swapped my stock strings for the same gauge you want to use with no problems at all.

+1

Also, if you wish you can add a wooden block behind the sustainer bar to help allay any tuning stability concerns.
