You'll have to be quick. My wife LOVES kola cubes: she's telling me to close the auction out right now on that bid. Going once...

Cheers - C

Right,

I'll double whatever the highest bid is and throw in a batch of Mrs Bighair's Crunchy Cakes for you NOT to make a Bovril style Tele.

I'll also triple Mrs C's current Montezuma's truffle supply.

When will you people wake up and smell the Marmite. I even saw a film once where it showed its true nature...

Scary stuff...

Andy

You guys are a rip! But tell me, what are kola cubes?????

Is it true we are mean to kids???? Ummmmm...... I bought a Fender Bassman cab from a guy in a alternative band that plays at the Hard Rock Cafe in Seattle. Dyed black hair, tattoos all over his arms and chest, with weird black sweater that covered his hands but showed part of his chest, and did I mention piercing??? We had a great time talking about music and we plan on getting together again this summer to chat. Never can judge a book by the cover.... 8)

Oh man, I am so conflicted about this post. For everyone's information, Mr Andy Bighair (that's his real name, folks) not only has some very big hair, he is also one of the plain nicest fellas you could hope to meet - I happen to know. He didn't stop at giving me this (taps on the bottle) vat of very tasty Tuaca liqueur, he's also been giving Mrs C boxes of fine Montezuma chocolate truffles:

http://www.tuaca.com/Default.aspx

http://www.montezumas.co.uk

It's hard to object to a man like that. Very hard. (Hey, though: giving chocolates to my wife? Wait a minute... :| )

And yet. He doesn't like Marmite OR Bovril.

Hmmmmmmmmm.

...The bidding is still open.

Cheers - C

PS: a Tuaca Lemon Shot -

1 1/2 oz Tuaca
1/2 oz triple sec
1 oz of sweet and sour (blimey!)
A lemon wedge, squeezed
Sugar to taste

Shake with ice and serve in a sugar-rimmed shot glass (as if it somehow wasn't sweet enough already).

Slurp slurp. Mmmmm. Not bad! :D

Never been there, probably never will. Either way: they wouldn't recognise my face! :D

Interesting fact of this auction is that everybody seems to be bribing Mrs C rather than Mr C. I'll leave that uncommented!

However. Andy, to support your motion, I will add half a bottle of ketchup, a mars bar I found while cleaning up the car and 6 white mice (talk about influencing the right subjects here: CATPOWER AT HOUSE OF C!!!)

Also just recently bought a Dumble amp off the bay. Total bargain: 85.000,00! You can have it if ya want... won't be playing it. It smells funny.

That's ok kid, you're not meant personally. Take it from a slightly older kid that all is well. And that most of us like pie, too. Cool? :)

Cheers

Yeah - I'm going to point out that Andy has already submitted his bid FOR REAL. That puts him a bit ahead of the game so far - even if he hasn't quite understood how auctions work and is bidding for the wrong outcome.

You're all going to have to work hard to top what that man has already put on the table.

Try.

...Anyone remember what this thread was about? I think it was that these days too many of us are nasty, rude and spiteful round here - wasn't it? Ah well: the proof of the pudding...

:D

Cheers - C

...Though talking of bids on the table, I just walked down stairs and noticed this very fine Christmasy flavoured six foot long woollen scarf hanging on the coat stand, and now I'm remembering how warm it kept me in the winter.

People: The Nutter already has a material bid in too.

(Just to further emphasise how hostile and unfriendly we all are in this place. 8) )

Cheers - C

I like that. Bovril might be nice on a windy day, but a guitar in Marmite design would be much better than one in Bovril visuals!

Could even give one to Clapton. He could call it "Sticky".

Anyhow. Carry on!

See above.

Now, back to grovelling around on the basement floor sealing these new limestone tiles for me.

Later - C
