Does anyone know where I could get the HM Strat except from ebay? Oh and was there a model with a Floyd Rose rather than the Kahler bridge, because I'd prefer that. Thanks.

i always have my eye out for those as well. they seem to be a cult favorite.

it's hard to find them other then ebay. you can certainly find them there but they will be more expensive.

my advice would be to keep your eye out on local listing sites and also keep in mind that people might list them wrong. not every one might know that it's an hm strat. so i would search a few different ways.

best of luck.

Ebay and gBase are about the only places I know; just keep searching because they turn up from time to time. I've never had any dealings with them, but there is a dealer called Chris' Guitars ( http://www.chrisguitars.com/ ) that usually has a few HM Strats in stock. I think the guy deals out of his house or something; it's a really basic website. I don't think he has any with Floyds but the last time I was on his site (about a month ago) he had several HMs in various colors. Never had any dealings with them, but it's a good place to find photos of rare/odd guitars like the HMs, Elites, Valley Arts guitars, etc.

Regarding the trem - Fender became the distributor for the Floyd Rose trem after Kramer went under; I think that perhaps the last year or so of HM Strats had original Floyds instead of the Kahler Spyder. Look for ones from say late 1990 until they were discontinued (I think that was 1992 or early 1993).
