Maybe you could Call a ham radio operator to find saddles to match the block that you have installed.

Hi shimmilou, yes that's what I intend to do. :D I read about the Call a ham :) saddles on their website. They say they are high quality. They even list their hardness rating though I can't recall what it is but Looks like good stuff to me. I'm gonna order 'em soon. I'm also curious as to what it will do for the tone also. It may improve some huh? The guitar sounds great but may even get better. I don't own a dremel.(though I should probably get one). But If I have to buff the saddles every two years, they will get thin evntually. If the Call a hams are as they claim they are(and I'm pretty sure they are), they shouldn't need buffing as often.

Just today, I got to inspect a friend's US made Lonestar Strat that we had put the Callaham block and saddles on a while back. He is a heavy user, and he has gone through a few strings sets since the Callaham parts were installed, and has not so much as a scratch on any of the saddles, they still look brand new.... well, they looked new after I cleaned the gunk off that he had deposited on them (he has self-described "caustic" sweat that leaves some nasty deposits all over the neck and bridge after he plays).

I would say that if the saddles are changed to ones made of better quality material, they will improve the tone, however subtle the difference may be. I have not had a chance to compare just a saddle change, as it is usually the block that people want changed first, and I feel that the block is the majority of the tone improvement. But, I'm sure that the Callaham saddles are as good as you can get, if not the best, as far as bent steel saddles. :)
